Before the pandemic, the role of general counsel was in constant evolution to be more business focused. Now, agility and business acumen are keys to success. Because of this shift in responsibilities, there is no going back to the days where in-house counsel leaders only provide the business with legal analysis and business support—the pendulum has swung too far. In-house leaders will continue to be asked to play bigger roles in how companies are run, so you must be ready to not only provide quick, critical insight that directly influences risk management, but also drive company culture and business strategies.

To better understand the shifting nature of these responsibilities, Corporate Counsel has conducted an exclusive survey with senior in-house counsels and legal leaders to gauge how their relationship with the board has changed over the last year. Our research also asked what role these senior in-house counsels now play in driving business results within their organization as well as how compliance, data privacy, cybersecurity and other issues now play into the decision-making process.

Join this exclusive webcast to hear detailed results from our Corporate Counsel survey, listen to a panel of experts discuss the conclusions in-depth and explore how to bring value to your organization through your relationship with your board of directors. You will also learn how to:

  • Work effectively with your board of directors and be seen as a strategic business leader in the organization.
  • Develop and lead strategic initiatives that are prioritized by your board of directors and bring value to your legal department and your role as GC.
  • Get initiatives and solutions across to your board of directors when there are internal structural changes.
  • `Make the leap from being seen as a cost-center to a business innovator.
